Privacy at every step of the data journey
Each stage of processing carries its own obligation under the DPDP Act and ISO/IEC 27701.
Privacy compliance lives in everyday processes: what you collect, why, for how long, and who can see it.
Dr. Sanjay Vaid, Invocore
Personal data needs clear rules
The DPDP Act, 2023 sets obligations for organisations that process digital personal data in India, including notice, consent, data principal rights, security safeguards and breach notification. ISO/IEC 27701 gives a recognised management system for privacy that supports these obligations.
The challenge
Why this matters now
Personal data flows through almost every part of a modern business: marketing forms, HR systems, customer apps, analytics tools and dozens of vendors. Each of these flows carries obligations on notice, consent, purpose, retention and security, and a single weak link can lead to a breach, a complaint or regulatory action.
India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 sets clear duties for data fiduciaries, and ISO/IEC 27701 provides an internationally recognised management system to meet them consistently. Together, they turn privacy from a legal checklist into everyday practice across the organisation.
The DPDP Act
The DPDP Act, 2023 and its rules define duties for organisations processing digital personal data in India.
Rising expectations
Customers and partners expect transparency and control over how their data is used.
Vendor ecosystems
More processing happens through third parties, making processor oversight essential.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need ISO 27001 before ISO 27701?
ISO/IEC 27701 extends an ISO/IEC 27001 ISMS, so the two are usually implemented together or in sequence.
Does ISO 27701 make us DPDP compliant?
It provides a strong framework, but DPDP-specific obligations also need to be mapped and addressed. We cover both.
Can you act as our Data Protection Officer?
Yes, through our DPO as a service.
