OT Security · Assessment

See every asset and connection on your plant network

An OT security assessment for industrial sites: asset discovery, network architecture review and risk assessment aligned to ISA/IEC 62443, without disrupting production.

Led by Dr. Sanjay Vaid, a lead auditor and trainer for international certification and training bodies, with practical consulting across information security, AI governance, privacy and OT security.

The first control in any plant is an accurate map of what is connected.

Dr. Sanjay Vaid, Invocore

You cannot protect what you cannot see

Many plants have grown over decades, with controllers, servers and remote connections added by different vendors. An OT security assessment builds an accurate picture of what is connected, how it is protected and where the biggest risks sit.

The challenge

Why this matters now

Industrial sites often lack a reliable inventory of their control systems. Vendors connect remotely, flat networks link IT and OT, and legacy systems cannot be patched. Without visibility, it is impossible to know where the real risks lie.

Our OT security assessment builds that visibility safely. We work with operations teams to discover assets, review architecture and remote access, and assess risk using ISA/IEC 62443, producing a phased roadmap that respects safety and production.

IT and OT convergence

Plant networks increasingly connect to corporate IT and the cloud.

Attacks on industry

Industrial organisations are frequent targets of ransomware and disruption.

Customer and regulator pressure

Operators and OEM customers expect evidence of OT security.

How ready are you?

Answer four questions leaders ask us. Your result appears instantly; nothing is stored or sent.

Do we have a current inventory of every OT asset?

How do vendors and engineers connect remotely?

Is the plant network separated from corporate IT?

Which zones carry the highest risk to safety and production?

What we deliver

Capabilities

OT asset discovery

A register of controllers, HMIs, servers and network devices across the site.

Architecture review

Segmentation, DMZ, firewalls and remote access assessed against the Purdue model.

Risk assessment (62443-3-2)

Threats, consequences and target security levels for each zone.

Remote access and vendor review

How engineers and vendors connect, and how that access is controlled.

Policy and procedure review

OT security policies, change control and backups.

Prioritised roadmap

Practical, phased actions that fit maintenance windows.

Selected

Enterprise IT

Business networks and systems such as ERP and email. Under 62443 they sit outside the control zones and connect only through the DMZ.

Industrial DMZ

A buffer zone between IT and OT. Firewalls, jump hosts and data replicas mean no direct traffic passes between business and control networks.

Operations

Site-level systems such as historians, MES and patch servers that collect data and manage production.

Supervisory

SCADA servers, HMIs and engineering workstations that monitor and command the process. A frequent target, so access is tightly controlled.

Control

PLCs, DCS controllers and RTUs that run the process logic in real time. Changes here need strict authorisation.

Field devices

Sensors, actuators and drives that measure and act on the physical process. Their integrity is essential to safety.

Frequently asked questions

Will the assessment affect production?

We plan with operations teams and use passive methods wherever possible.

Do you follow ISA/IEC 62443?

Yes. Risk assessment and architecture review follow ISA/IEC 62443-3-2 and 3-3.

What happens after the assessment?

We can help implement the roadmap through our ISA/IEC 62443 consulting and training.
